- Treasure Chest: While this sounds bizarre, embodying a treasure chest is a bold way to step into luxury. Deck yourself out in gems and rhinestones, and you will be the brightest costume there is. It’s fun, funky, colorful, and a way to go full out glam. I recommend an all gold starting point: a gold dress, skirt/top, and some sort of gold shoes. Following that, begin an immersion into all kinds of funky and colorful jewelry. In this case, the bigger the better, and there is no such thing as too much.

2. Poison Ivy: While this sounds a little… dare I say thorny… this is a creative and fun costume to add some originality to your look. Wrap yourself in a forest or verdant green to start your look. Second, wrap yourself in some vine accessories. Whether this be real vines or tattoos, both will do the trick. Top off your look with a vine tiara, and the costume is in its full completion.

3. Safari Guide: As someone who loves netrauls, this costume is right up my alley. Think khakis, but stylish. Start with a beige base, then layer that with belts and jewelry. Any kind of gold bangle can easily spice up this look. For accessories, you have to have the basics. A pair of binoculars… duh. Keep it rolling with some sunglasses and a bucket hat. Any kind of shoe will go well with this, but I styled it with a classic high boot.

4. Knight: A Halloween costume guide isnt complete without something a little edgy. Channel your inner warrior with a full-on metallic look. Style yourself in accents of silver and metallic. Layer your outfit with chains and anything that gives the appearance of body armor. A metal head scarf is a cool way to accentuate the look. With this look, don’t forget to accessorize with a sword.

5. Goldfish: Think glitter, color, and originality. This costume is all about making a splash—literally. Start with a shimmery orange dress or sequin top, and layer on bold accessories in gold and iridescent tones to mimic scales catching the light. For makeup, go playful: think metallic eyeshadow, highlighter that gleams like water, and maybe even a touch of face glitter.

6. Bed Bug: I know what you’re thinking… a bed bug? But, yes. A bed bug. It’s unique, fun, and cute. You’ll want to start by dressing like a bug. In my opinion, a ladybug is the perfect embodiment for this. Once you’ve achieved a bug costume, it’s time to transform your look. You can add any sort of robe to give the appearance that relates you to sleeping. An eye mask sitting on your head is the perfect touch for this. I chose boots to style this with for a more fashionable touch; however, slippers are an even better compliment to this costume.
